Near-Site Work Health Solutions is hiring a Per Diem Nurse Practitioner for Roseville clinic and mobile events in Greater Sacramento. Our clinic mission is providing Employee Health for employers of all sizes who want to provide their staff with quality care. Near-site Work Health Solutions specializes in occupational health and primary care as well as offers a preventative musculoskeletal injury program keeping workers healthy, productive and happy.
The Nurse Practitioner, "NP" uses clinical judgments in conducting health assessments, making differential diagnosis, and prescribing pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments. Plans are implemented through independent action, health counseling, and collaboration with other members of the health team. They are responsible for clinical oversight and health center consultation regarding administration of health care policy and procedure of the delivery of services as they pertain to their designated site/role. The NP promotes optimum health, prevents illness and injury, completes employer service exams, and manages work-related injuries and illnesses at their assigned location(s).
Essential Job Duties:
- Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of Physician oversight including Department of Transportation (DOT) exams, where required.
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ clinical problems and health care needs. Includes proficiency in reading x-rays performed by onsite radiology tech where applicable.
- Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient’s condition. Provides written patient instructions.
- Collaborates with Physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan for work-related injuries and illnesses and/or limited scope primary care in designated locations.
- Prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, acupuncture, or other related therapeutic procedures.
- Refers patients to overseeing physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.
- Performs clinical procedures as appropriate in clinic setting under the direction of Medical Director. May include, but not limited to laceration repair, joint injections, wound care, and other procedures as directed.
- Maintains medical records using designated electronic medical record (EMR).
- Educates and coaches clinical staff on best practices and assists center managers in facilitating program management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in state of practice.
- Nationally Certified as FNP, ANP, or AGNP by AANP or ANCC.
- Current Certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for medical provider is required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services.
- Current DEA license to write prescriptions under the authority of the Medical Leader, if allowed within state of practice.
- Valid NPI
- Current DOT medical examiner certification in specified locations, as directed by VP of Medical Operations or CCO.
Education, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Master's degree required.
- At least one year (three years preferred) of clinical experience as a NP in ambulatory care, occupational health, family practice, urgent care, or emergency department setting.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations preferred.
- Current DOT medical examiner certification in specified locations
- Ability to train ancillary support staff on clinical skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving and workflow management skills
- Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
- Other Qualifications:
- Requirements as set forth in the specific contract for the site may include working flexible hours including evenings, nights and weekends. Travel for assignments and/or training may occasionally be required.
